Meet Kate Hulsman

Kate began her professional career over 20 years ago as a Chartered Accountant in a mid-sized firm. After completing her degree, she spent time travelling before returning to Australia and establishing her career in the insolvency and financial restructuring space.

For more than two decades, Kate has worked closely with business owners and individuals facing financial difficulty. She was a Registered Liquidator at a large Melbourne-based accounting firm before moving to a Specialist Consulting firm assisting business owners and individuals in financial distress. As the firm’s first Partnership Executive and Business Development Manager, Kate combined her technical insolvency expertise with a relationship-driven approach, placing her in a strong position to support directors and individuals at some of the most challenging times in their business and personal lives.

Kate is deeply passionate about helping people navigate financial distress and find practical, tailored solutions that suit their unique circumstances. Her strong communication skills, combined with her technical knowledge, allow her to approach each situation with empathy, clarity, and professionalism, recognising the emotional impact that financial stress can have.

She is well connected across the industry and works alongside a trusted network of professionals who provide finance, legal, and insolvency support, ensuring her clients have access to the right advice at the right time.

Outside of work, Kate enjoys spending time with her young family and is actively involved in fundraising. She has previously supported organisations assisting adults with intellectual disabilities and now contributes to her son’s small primary school in Bayside.
